stormy season
wow, it's been ages, my longest DA hiatus in recent memory. I've been up to my ears in work (I can't handle 2 full-time contracts at the same time :P) but now things are quieting down again, thank god. I finally have time to give photography some well-deserved love again.
As of January 10th, I've reached the nubile age of 30 (argh). It came and went without too much fanfare, which is fine by me hehe. Actually it was a wednesday, the first wednesday after the holidays, and nobody is in the mood to party, including me. Instead, I decided to throw a 30 years & 30 days party, which will be tomorrow. Drinks, tapas & cuban cigars! Should be fun :)
lucky strikes
Busy as usual, but still finding time for the occasional photography :) I met up with retrodiva88 (https://www.deviantart.com/retrodiva88) in Utrecht, really cool girl, and in just 1.5 years she's evolved into a seasoned fashion photographer. Have a look at her gallery, and tell her i sent you!
Kids, lookit how cool smoking is!
Ironically today I'm suffering from a sore throat. *Cough*
Prettig Sinterklaasfeest jongens en meisjes!

Stayin' Alive
No Saturday Night Fever for me, but more like Sunday afternoon stress...
Hi again :) I just wanted to let you know i'm still alive. I took 3 weeks off work and travelled a bit around eastern Europe, mainly Prague and Berlin. It was a nice little break and I did get to take a bunch of fantastic photos which i'll be submitting a few at a time over the coming weeks :)
I also was browsing through my older photos from last year's vacation to HK/Philippines and there are also some there that I neglected, so probably will let you see a few of those as well.
Life is getting ubercrazy at this moment...in the past 3 weeks i've received something lik
Mad about Ad(verts)
After my amazement at the incredible work behind Nike's latest TV ad campaign, there is another great series that will definitely compete for best-executed of 2006 - the Sony Bravia ads, "Bouncy Balls" and "Paint".

this brings around that age-old question, "who gets to call it art?"
to him, photography is not real art. but that does not apply to all people because everybody has a different perspective on art.
for me, i believe that art can be anything that takes personal effort to apply the word "beautiful" to anything. photography captures beauty. drawing and painting illustrates beauty. digital media designs beauty.
i certainly can sympathize with you, howere this is not because of his narrow view of art, but because it seems as if he thinks his opinions are law. of course, this can just be how he has written it - i don't know.
